Reznor Releases Entire NIN Album For Free

Clearly leading the pack in free music, Trent Reznor has released the latest Nine Inch Nails album entirely free in a variety of formats exclusively on the band's official web site. The 10-track album is called The Slip clocks in just under 44 minutes. It features the two singles, "Discipline" and "Echoplex," released for free over the past few weeks.

The site encourages fans "to remix it, share it with your friends, post it on your blog, play it on your podcast, give it to strangers, etc." All the multitrack files have been released on NIN's remix site. Trent finishes, "Thank you for your continued and loyal support over the years - this one's on me."

Free Coldplay Single: "Violet Hill"

Tomorrow, the song "Violet Hill" will be available for download on Coldplay's web site for a week. The song is the lead single from their latest studio record, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends which is due on June 17 in North America.

Coldplay is also scheduled to play two free shows at London's Brixton Academy on June 16 and Madison Square Garden in N.Y. on June 23. The band's web site reads, "Check back soon for details of how to get tickets."
